At the beginning of class, the professor showed us this electron gun which releases electrons and common used in old style televisions, computer monitors.
This is a simple graph of the electron gun, the electrons was released at every direction, but when the electrons go through the slides, the slides can accelerate electrons and change their directions.
This predicted graph shows the wave produced by the oscilloscope.
This is the graph when we added a battery on the oscilloscope and the voltage became bigger.
For this picture, we did an oscilloscope activity and found few equations about the motion of electrons in electron gun.
Then we ran the functional generator by using small speaker and 1 BNC to clip lead cable.
The left picture is the answers to the activity on the right.
These are five more questions on the activity.
These three pictures are for the activity of measuring wave forms.
These two are the answers of d, the first picture is sinusoidal wave and the second is the square wave.
We started to do task No.1, this is we connect a small DC wallwart to the oscilloscope and the voltage is 5V and the frequency is 60 Hz.
This picture shows that there is a noise.
Then we change to AC transformer to the input of the oscilloscope.
Then the last activity is the mysterious box activity.
The blue one is DC and the voltage is 5V
Nothing happened when we connect it to yellow.
The green is DC and its voltage is 8.5 V
The red is AC.
This is the graph that summarize the result of the mysterious box activity.
Conclusion
In today's class, we learned a lot about oscilloscope and we derived lots of equations about the motion of electrons that are in the electron gun. Also, we did a long experiment on functional generator and looked at different waves, DC/AC circuits, and finally we did the mysterious box activity.
